10 Minute Abs + My Macros for the Day

Welcome back to my crazy life! I know it’s been a minute since I posted a workout but this move has been hectic.

Now that I have a minute to write, I figured I’d share the ab workout that I just did.

If you know me, you know that abs are not my favorite to workout and this one was the first in probably months! I’d just rather build my shoulders and booty, what can I say? But I decided today to STOP NEGLECTING MY POOCH! And boy, is it a pooch.

Without further ado, here is my very quick ab workout (it’s more like 12-15 minutes depending on how long your in-between breaks are)

  • Butterfly crunch 3×15
  • Standing side crunch 3×15 (per side)
  • Reverse crunch 3×12
  • Plank 3×45 sec
  • Side dips 3×12 (per side)

Easy as pie, which is something I’m not currently eating.

Speaking of food, I had a turkey sandwich for breakfast and I’m about to have two boca chik’n patties with sriracha sauce for my post workout/lunch. Dinner is going to be chicken breast and broccoli.

I totally haven’t been being true to my username MacroBabe, so I figured I’d share that with you.

By no means is my current diet ideal, so don’t follow what I do. I’m still getting this place organized, so meal times are a little wonky.

By June, I’m hoping that meals will be a little more structured and balanced. Fingers crossed and if you have any tips, feel free to share them with me!

Have a wonderful day and weekend, folks!

February Progress!

I wrote an extensive blog post on tumblr about how I was feeling during this month. It’s a little convoluted but check it out if you’d like. To summarize: February has felt very disorganized and unfocused. I don’t feel like I accomplished as much as I thought I would and I think I was unprepared, but on the plus side I gained muscle and lost fat at a steady pace which is exactly what I wanted!

I had a few really good outdoor runs this month and I’ve decided that March’s fitness goals are going to be centered around running. March will also be centered around mental health!

I definitely did NOT follow my nutrition or fitness rules. I danced quite a bit and learned some fun booty moves, but I didn’t manage outdoor runs twice a week. I drank alcohol twice this month as well and went 6 out of the 7 first days without caffeine. Despite all that I still managed to have an overall loss.

  1. Running outside twice a week
  2. Dancing more
  3. Abs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
  1. No alcohol or beverages with calories
  2. No red meat
  3. Caffeine free the first seven days
  4. Eat fish twice a week

I’m proud to say that other than a mishap with a restaurant order, I stayed completely away from red meat! This transition is difficult, but definitely doable. Next month I’ll have a bit more in terms of what I can and can’t eat, but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out what!

My morning back pain isn’t as bad these days either. I had to sleep with a pillow between my knees a couple times this month but other than that and just feeling stiff in the morning, it’s been improving! I also feel a bit stronger in my arms, which is fantastic! I badly want to have visibly muscular arms!

The first pic is from February 15th, the second was from a few days ago! All aboard the gain train, am I right?

Thus far, February hasn’t been 100%, but it’s nearly over and tomorrow is a new day, a new start! Get ready, guys. Tomorrow’s post should be a blast!

FABUARY CHALLENGE!

Hey guys, I’m going to keep this as short as possible! This month I’ve putting a focus on my abs and back (aka my girdle).

My workouts will be simple:

  1. Running outside twice a week
  2. Dancing more
  3. Abs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

My diet has a couple of rules too:

  1. No alcohol or beverages with calories
  2. No red meat
  3. Caffeine free the first seven days
  4. Eat fish twice a week

Since this has been day 1 of my caffeine cycle, I’m having a fair amount of brain fog. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring a more clear-headed day. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!
